Wilderness First Aid course - Sponsored by Brown County State Park / IDNR

Imagine that you are hours away from help in a remote area, or because of a natural or man-made disaster. Would you know what to do if you or someone else became ill or injured?

 

Have fun and enjoy the outdoors as you learn Wilderness First Aid, which is providing emergency treatment to people who are more than one hour from definitive medical care. Upon successful completion of this course you will earn WFA certification valid for 3 years from the Emergency Care & Safety Institute.

• First Aid Kit Construction

This course is open to anyone 14 years of age or older (under 18 requires parental consent and waiver). Tution includes instruction, student manual and supplies to use during the course.

Class size is limited and pre-registration is required!

This highly interactive 16 hour program will be conducted by Jim Floyd, M.Ed. and Aaron Edwards, B.S., who are both certified as Wilderness Emergency Medical Technicians, NASAR Search & Rescue Technicians, Naturalists, and ECSI Instructors.

Refund Policy

Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to a scheduled course start date will provide the student/agency with a 100% refund. Any cancellation within 14 to 1 days prior to a scheduled course start date will result in a 50% refund. No refunds are issued for students failing to show up at a course, or leaving once a course commences. We understand that emergency circumstances do arise, in which case the tuition(s) may be transferred to another course, at DPG's discretion, if proper notification is made. In some circumstances, verification of the cancellation may be required. In the unforeseen circumstance that DPG must cancel a course, paid registrants will be given the option of a full and immediate refund or a transfer of their paid registration fees to be applied to any other DPG course(s).
